Eugene always had a need to stay active. His career in endurance sports took off as a collegiate rower for Bates College, where despite being shorter and less powerful than his over 6-foot teammates, he found a knack for competition and a fire that often put him in the top boats, racing at the highest levels. But he discovered a true love for endurance sports after moving to San Diego and joining the local November Project tribe. Through his new love for fitness and in meeting positive, like-minded people, he connected with trail running and found his true passion in the mountains. Eugene is now an active trail runner, having competed at smaller events and is currently training for his first season of ultra marathons with the Mountain Hobo Racing Team, based out of San Diego, CA. Though young in his running career, he's developed a training style that is simple - do what you love, listen to your body, and don't forget to stop, look up, and enjoy the view.
